Default intake and speed density ?

could some one please tell me how much a stock HO intake handle and how much can you port it? Also how much HP can speed density handle. Will it be able to handle 350hp?

The bottom line is the stocker can't support enough to justify using it if your serious about extracting horsepower from the motor, the only way to "port" it is cut it in half, or extrude honing which is big money, a bone stock $400 cobra intake would provide a much better alternative.

what i should be asking is will it hurt a brand new crate motor if i keep the speed density? I just need to keep the stock intake until i get some money because the motor is going to be broken in and i also need to be able to drive to work!

-thanks

No not at all, no intake will hurt any engine....unless it's leaking.

Speed Density is a tricky system to work worth.

You will need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.........You have to compensate the extra air flow by adding extra fuel.

Speed Density is not very "cam" friendly most people just use 1.7 roller rockers to increase the lift of the stock cam.

Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have.

Later,

hey thanks alot-
this is what i am doing this will probally explain why i am asking so many questions. i am ordering a crate motor here is the link:
http://www.thefordsource.com/store/m..._302_345HP.pdf i am going to use 25lbs injectors and fuel pressure reg, long tube headers, cobra intake or gt40 intake, do i need anything else. I really dont want to change over to maf because of the price and the install but i am kinda old school i was even thinking to switch over to carb but then i noticed it would be more trouble then it is worth so i am going to stay efi now.

-thanks-
Raini
