![]() I just bought a 1993 GT 5.0, and im looking to spend a couple thousand on mods.
The car has 132,000 miles on it, but ive spent $1000 in getting it in good condition. I checked the compression and its 135 psi on each cylinder, and its running very good. I have a 70mm TB/MSD A6/headers/H-pipe/flomasters/power pully/3.55 gears. should i go with a vortech 6psi kit? or alum heads/intake? the only thing im worried about is the timming chain busting! I dont want to go that deep into the motor... Last edited by TMASTER; 09-30-2002 at 01:13 AM.. |

![]() Well the Heads/Intake/Cam route will give you a good 50HP+ and you can always add a blower after that.

![]() Do nothing as of yet. With that many miles, you'd be wise to save your money for a little while and either get a new shortblock, or have yours rebuilt.
but if you are stubborn (like me) and want to modify it now, then I'd go for the heads/cam/intake route.

![]() One thing id say is go to one of the local engine shops and talk to them. They can give you a good idea of what you can do and give you some good pointers. They can also take a look at your engine now and then go from there.

![]() If you get a new shortblock now, you can still sell the old one. A working shortblock is worth a lot more then an abused wornout broken one.
