i had the same problem on my 91 GT and i took off the air intake hose right where it goes into the throttle body and cleaned the butterfly and the area right around that, and it went back down to normal
2 days later it started going back up, so i guess i didn't get all the deposits...next step = injector cleaner in the gas tank
