I'm not sure if they add any more stiffness to the car, although I would think they would.
They seem to be VERY convienient for jacking the car up on one side. Kenny Brown had a display at a carshow that I was at and this stang had one side about 3-4 feet in the air and it was only being supported by a jack on those rails.
Do you already have the K-brace and strut tower brace? If not, those will probably give you much more support than the jacking rails.
