Just bought a set of TFS Twisted Wedge's
Im putting them on a 347 later, but for now theyre going on my 302. Should I get them stage II ported or just clean and gasket match?
How do they compare to the AFR 185's? ------------------ 95GT B303 cam, 1.7 rockers, 65mm TB, milled heads, 355's K&N, BBK Longtubes, Flowmaster cat back, pulleys, msd coil, 9mm wires, Tremec 3550, Pro5.0 shifter,10.5 Motorsport clutch, FMS aluminum driveshaft, weld in subframe connectors |

Judging by the rest of your mods, I would go with stage II porting, A good intake, and maybe a more aggressive cam. It looks like your set up to run some good power. You might want to consider gears and a good posi if you don't already have them.

I would get them ported. Not too hogged out, just a little bowl work and open the ports to a 1262 Fel-pro gasket. That is what works for me anyway...

Thanks for the info, I think I will get them ported now.
Can someone give me more info on stage one work? Isnt it just surfacing and gasket matching? The place I bought the heads for wants 300 bucks for stage one. If thats all thats involved I can get the heads surfaced for 25 bucks a piece somewhere else and gasket match them myself with a dremel. Is this a good idea? I could save 250 and use that towards the bowlwork. LX5liter, I have 355's but I would like 410's ------------------ 95GT B303 cam, 1.7 rockers, 65mm TB, milled heads, 355's K&N, BBK Longtubes, Flowmaster cat back, pulleys, msd coil, 9mm wires, Tremec 3550, Pro5.0 shifter,10.5 Motorsport clutch, FMS aluminum driveshaft, weld in subframe connectors |

I think you should stick with the 3.55s, as they will work better once you get that 347, which won't rev as high, but will have more low end torque.

I agree, have them cleaned up and matche to the 1262 gasket. You'll love the heads!!

So Sky, You dont reccomend getting any bowlwork done right now? Or should I clean them up and gasket match them myself and have a stage II port job done?

Head work is expensive for a reason. Don't try porting a brand new set of aluminum heads yourself for gods sake!!!!!

If for some reason gasket matching the heads myself is a bad idea please let me know. I really dont want to **@k them up. ------------------ 95GT B303 cam, 1.7 rockers, 65mm TB, milled heads, 355's K&N, BBK Longtubes, Flowmaster cat back, pulleys, msd coil, 9mm wires, Tremec 3550, Pro5.0 shifter,10.5 Motorsport clutch, FMS aluminum driveshaft, weld in subframe connectors |

I wouldn't even try the gasket match myself. The aluminum is MUCH softer than you think. One slip up with the dremel and you could be creating problems for yourself. I would spend a couple hundred dollars and have them done right...you wouldn't want to end up screwing up $1,000 pair of heads. The best porting job would be CNC. Like Fox Lake does. If the 347 is in the NEAR future, then go ahead and get them ported to stage II. What are they qouting for flow numbers on the stage 2 port? I just got off the phone with the shop and they told me they will do the whole thing, stage 1 and 2 for about 500 bucks. Thats pretty cheap. They have a flowbench and can print me out a flow sheet.
The numbers should be around 312 cfm intake and 237 cfm exhaust. ------------------ 95GT B303 cam, 1.7 rockers, 65mm TB, milled heads, 355's K&N, BBK Longtubes, Flowmaster cat back, pulleys, msd coil, 9mm wires, Tremec 3550, Pro5.0 shifter,10.5 Motorsport clutch, FMS aluminum driveshaft, weld in subframe connectors |

WOW!!! Those are some BIG flow numbers. At what lift are those #'s quoted? Mine are flowing 272/206 at .500" lift and 28 in. of H20.
Those heads should be great for your 347. |

That does sound high. It's probably @ .060. Which is a useless measurement considering most 5.0l street cams are about .050 lift.
