![]() My friend broke 2 within 2 months, and mine just broke. They are stock short blocks with about 100k miles on them. The crank broke right behind the first rod journal on all 3 motors. Is this a common problem?? I tell you what, WOW what a noise.

![]() Oddness, usually the block will go before the crank does.

![]() They were all stock shortblocks from the factory. Never rebuilt. Just about 100k miles on them. I can see why my friends broke because he went through about a bottle a day. LOL. Mine was all motor and it broke. The bearings were fine and oil pressure was good. The crank pretty much tore the whole front of the block apart. Blew the timing cover off. Bent some valves in the heads when the timing chain broke. The front half of the crank ended up hitting my radiator. Didnt hurt the radiator.

![]() WOW....
You guys should seriously consider investing in a few Dart 351 blocks and forged cranks, at least....I just don't know what else to say. I've NEVER snapped a crankshaft. EVER.

![]() Some one dig up the pics of mine. The first main cap breaks first, then the crank. It Just looks the other way. Mine blew the entire front half of the block and every thing in that area.
