Cool Do you want AFRs and a cam on a stock bottom?

One of my best freinds and I just put a HR266 cam, holly intake, and 165AFRs on his car. Full weight, stock bottom, 4.11s, ponys & raidials, lowering springs in the back, 4cyl s in front, stock TB, stock rockers, 19lb, short belt. The cam, we were worried that the valves would hit. We checked it with play dough. It looked good???. We went for it. He cranked it last night. Tonight we were at the track for BIKE night. He showed up and they let him run. The best pass was a 13.00 at 108.XX 1.99 60 ft. This is not even close to being tuned right, Oh he has my 73mmC&L that I'll never use( I'm SD). So any way if any of you wanted to use AFRs and didn't know what cam to use, the HR266 works well so far.

Theres a whole bunch of guys on the corral with those heads, and if I had the cash then I'd definately have a set.

One guy just recently over there put ~350hp to the wheels with AFR165's, ed curtis custom cam, performer RPM intake, 75mm TB and misc other stuff. This is all with a 10:1 306. This thing is in perfect tune though. Most other guys with this combo see about 320rwhp or so, which isnt too shabby for a N/A 302/306

Cool

Well AFR and no one else could tell us how much cam we could put. Tonight we welded one of my torque boxes then went to Coreys and put the 4cly rear springs in. Any body want some blue lowering springs?

not knowing anything about them makes me a little weary

one more question, why did you take them off your car or where did you get them?

Just sharing my experience with the BBK Blue lowering springs,They made my 60's worse than the stock ones did,too stiff and wont let the car squat,I ordered the Moroso Drag springs with the staggered spring pressure and dropped my 60's from 1.9's to 1.6's(2.1's with the BBK's). It's your money but this is my experience with the lowering springs, yours may vary. The springs from Moroso were 98.00.

Cool

I would guess that they are the BBKs, they are blue. They came on Corys car, not mine. We took them off, because they are LOWERING SPRINGS, not dragg springs. To Canada, give me a zip code to mail them to and I'll check shipping. This was a AFR / cam post

I love my AFR 165's and Ed Curtis cam combo. It seems to make a lot of power for a heavy AODE. I need to work out some tuning issues, but on the whole I think I have an awesome combo.

87lx58,
Sounds almost like a Pure Street combo. Good times. What is your race weight?

Cool

87 Cory will be floored when I tell him what you run. We are looking for 12.0s at 110+ with his car. You think a 70 mm tb would help you? What MAF do you have? Did you use an Isky valve cutter or was yours done out of the car?
