Post Dyno test Holley/Diablo custom chip

I ran my car on a Land and Sea dyno today. The operator assured me that he put in the same correction factors to my numbers would jive fairly well with my Mustang Dyno results.

Previously I pulled 270 rwhp @ 5000 rpm and 305? lbs of torque @ 4700 rpm with the ported GT-40. Now add the Systemax intake and my numbers today:

285 rwhp at 5500 rpm and 325 lbs of torque @ 4900 rpm.
I did not do any wide band tuning due to time constraints. I was more concerned with the gains of the new intake.

Now add the Diablo off the shelf "custom" chip. NO GAIN AT ALL!! The numbers were exactly the same. The only benefit from the chip was that throttle response was better.

To say the least, I am still a bit disappointed. I would hope for 300 rwhp pretty easily with my combo.

302
Mild port on TFS TW heads
Systemax intake
65 mm t.b.
24 lb'ers w/C&L 73
E-303/1.72's
Equal shorty headers
No power steering
Moroso electric water pump drive
Panel K&N

Any advice? Thoughts? opinions????

My opinion is it's impossible to accurately compare hp results when they come from different dynos. Especially different manufacturers.

That's something that I've heard from 3 different shop owners with dyno's.

I don't think most shelf chips are all that great either. I've seen the numbers posted on a back to back dyno run on a 98 Cobra. It picked up something like 2.5 hp with the chip, and the same by running it a couple degrees cooler.

I agree about the different dynos. I really need to get back to Detroit Speedworks where I have previous runs at. The program for the Dialbo chip was some basic "heads/cam/intake" program downloaded from their site. He gave me another one to try out in my A9L computer. (I currently run an A9S) Basically trying to sell me a 300.00 chip that does not make my car any faster.

Every engine runs differently, so a real chip should be burned by an experienced tuner on a dyno using a wide band O2 sensor.

Nice numbers, real close to mine. Yeah I've heard mixed results on the chips in N/A tune. Did you run it on the NOS?
