Kid in Stealth talks smack

There is a kid that i know he drives a 91 Dodge Stealth ES he has a 5 speed and his mods are homemade CAI, and exahust with no cats and 3A racing muffler.
I have a 92 lx 5 speed stang with the following mods B&M Ripper shifter, ASP UD pulleys, MAC Cat back exahust, Eibach pro kit springs, and MSD Blaster coil with MSD wires and recent tune up.

Whenever i see this kid he always talks about how he will destroy me and i will have no chance i just say whatever lets race but we really never get the chance to.

if we did race how do you guys think it would turn out?

If you can drive, you will thoroughly kill him. DON'T spin your tires and you'll do fine.

what RPM should i launch at?

and what are the best shift points for my 92 lx 5 spd?

Yan88gt 06-23-2001 08:51 PM

On the street launch at idle. Or if you wan't, launch at 2000 rpm(max) trying to slip the clutch at the same time. You need to practice a lot. You can have an incredible launch with this technique or you can completly miss your launch. You need to push the accelerator smoothly. Shift between 5100-5400. The best way to find your shift point is to go at your dragstrip and try some different shift point.

LMAO @ green94droptop!!! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif

C'mon dude. You should destroy him even after drinking a case and driving blindfolded with your feet on the steering wheel...all while balancing an egg on a spoon!

.....not that I've done any of that. Heeheehee. http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/wink.gif

If i race him on the highway will i have the same results you guys have predicted?

dinomite 06-24-2001 11:30 AM

The only way to know how to launch is to practice. No reason to race, just go drive around RIGHT NOW! With stock gears on the street, you can probably give it a little gas at launch, but not much. Shift a little over 5000, and no later than 5400.

I beat a stick stealth with my moms ******* automatic v6 passat off the line and up to like 80......jesus you will tear the guy a new a hole...

Make sure to take pictures when you beat him and post 'em up here, like have someone at the finish line take a picture of when you cross the finish line and see how far behind the dodge is.

Not even necessary. He could stop before the finish line, set up his tripod, spool the film, take a light reading, set up the flash, take a picture of the stealth in the distance with his zoom lens, get back in, and then cross the finish line. Bwahahahahaha! http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif
