Lakewood lift bars
Hey, I'm new to the board and drive a 87 GT. Been reading some of the posts and really like this board. My question is, have any of you used or know anyone who is using the Lakewood lift bars? Good, bad? Gains no gains? Pros and cons please.

I use them and they do work. I wanted to see for my self and pulled them off for a weekend and went to the track. My best time without them was a 1.80 60 foot. with them It has gone a 1.72

I have them, I got them when they first came out for $120 or so and they seem to do ok. They are really cheap, price that is. They are powder coated, and seem to be built really nicely. The only thing that I don't like is that they do lower the car alittle anywhere from .5" to about 1.5" depending on which hole you set them on.

I've heard that they put alot of stress on the torque boxes (where the lower control arm mounts to the frame) and can cause rippage if it's weak or if you launch hard. I've heard that you can strengthen them by getting them welded in all the seams holding them on (i heard that they're not welded on very strong). I was considering getting them, but i'm not so sure anymore.

Thanks, I just bought a pair for a $100 bucks. They were cheap, so I figured why not. Just wanted to know what you thought about them!
