![]() Well I finally did my leak down test and here are the results:
Cyl 1 = 12% Cyl 2 = 14% Cyl 3 = 14% Cyl 4 = 14% Cyl 5 = 12% Cyl 6 = 11% Cyl 7 = 11% Cyl 8 = 13% It seemed to me that the leakage was coming through the valves or somewhere else in the heads, when I put my hand over the oil spout there was a slight warm breeze (I know I should have had the valve covers off but I had a brain fart). I am planning on replacing the heads by spring anyway so I'm not too concerned about that. I was told that anything better than 15% was pretty good so I figure I should go ahead with the head purchase and worry about a rebuild next year or maybe the next, depending on the next leak down test. Anyway I was wondering if anyone had any comments or advice, the numbers seemed ok to me, I was hoping they would all be around 10 or 11% but at least none are below 14%.
