Question Lifters???

I've been doing some adjustments to my engine because of noise coming from the valve trane area. A ticking or a tapping noise.
Ive adjusted the rockers to 1/2 turn past zero lash. Checked all the springs, pushrods, and rockers for any damage and it all looks good.
I'm down to the lifters. Has anyone had a collapsed lifter?? This engine only has 63,000 miles on it. My friends stang with stock guts sounds great and it has 150,000 miles on it.

The setup has 1.6 F.Motorsport roller rockers, 6.7 trick-flow pushrods, don't know what kind of lifters and springs.

Possibly could be the lifter....are u sure that teh push rods are of coorect length? big question also is..are the springs stock? I know said you didn't know but find out...springs should be one the first things to replace when switching heads and using different rockers...espescially if you are hard on the car...high rpms and such...TF makes a nice valve spring and that was my first thing bought after the rockers...heck-even if it is the lifters -they are relativly cheap and easy to replace--a couple of beers and a afternoon...good luck

I don't know if it's a big enough difference, but the TFS website does recommend 6.750" pushrods with twisted wedge heads. Unless you milled the block or the heads down some, those pushrods may be a bit too short. Call TFS and ask them about the pushrod length. I'm about to get some twisted wedge heads and am curious what they say about it.

The info i got from TF states that the pushrods can be within .150 of the recommended 6.750 length, so i'm ok there. I'm thinking that the springs are the ones that come with the heads and those are 1.800 high. I'm going to do some other testing like a leak down and compression to rule out the valves. i'm pretty sure it's not the valves. Any way i'll post what i find out. thanks for the replys'.
