Default Long Tubes for AOD

I have 92 with AOD. Was thinking of putting long tubes on. I know MAC sells an AOD Long Tube. I have several questions;

1. Will Long Tubes increase HP and Torque? My car has all the bolt on's you can do and includes 1.7 rockers with full exhaust. Stock heads and no power adder.

2. Is MAC the only manufacturer of Long Tubes for AOD's?

3. Does anyone have experience with AOD and Long Tubes?

I like the way they look and sound so HP gain may not be that big of a deal unless I will loose power.

I don't have any experience with Mac longtubes but have put on a set of hookers w/AOD Just need some patience but not that bad. I know its a competitors site but check out http://reviews.stangnet.com/ and go to exhaust there is a bunch of reviews on different headers, Don't know if Mac longs are there though. Besides Hooker, Hedman and Flowtech make lower priced headers. Bassani makes some high dollar pieces but they are sweet. You will usually lose a little torque below 2500-3000 but above you will really notice a difference.

Thanks for the response. I have veiwed the reveiws and the MAC's don't fair well. I looked at hedman but I didn't see any with bung holes for the O2 sensors. I live in the Dallas area and have to pass emmissions. What brand do you have on your car?

I run the Bassani LT with my AOD. They fit well and its a 1-5/8 to 1-3/4 stepped design with 3" collector. They'll definitely support at least 550hp since that's what my motor made on the dyno. Kooks also supposedly has a full 1-3/4 LT that uses adapter plates. A better header IMHO but they're mighty proud of them ($$$).

As far as my present car I'm just running Mac shorties, got a deal on them. The engine I'm putting together is only going to be about 300hp so I'm to worried about that last little bit of power, not at the moment anyway.. As far as not having the bung just about any competent muffler shop can weld them in for you. I've used both Hooker and Hedman longs on other cars I've put together for people. If its in your budget, have them coated.
