I've been looking for a new stang for awhile now and nothing good seems to turn up, well i'm going to look at a 93gt thats being sold privately, just wondering what I should look for when i go to check it out... also it has 82k miles for $6500 is the a fair price.. should i talk him down?

The more info you can give on the car, go check it out and come back here and tell us about it. You should look for all the stuff you normally do on a car, check for leaks (look at the oil pan, PS pum, rear end, axel seals), look all over the body, and ask about anything mechanical (listen for noises, etc.). I think the price is a little high, even if its in really good shape.

Mileage is good for that year stang - unless it's got many mods done - the price is a little steep if you ask me. I think if it's stock you've got some play to talk him down.

the info i know on it is all cosmetic, it has a aftermarket hood, 1 year old paint job and cobra r rims, and looks like a new front bumber from the picture... should i try to talk him down to any certain price? if it has heavey proformance mods then i'll probably stay away from it.

Thumbs up

Try to find all of it's flaws and talk him or her down on the price. You should be able to find a good running '94-'95 GT.

The price should largely reflect how well the car has been maintained. $6500 isn't bad if the car is really clean. I've seen 100,000 milers that look like they just rolled off the showroom floor. My brother used to have an 88' LX 5.0 that had 165,000 miles on in, had never had the valve covers off and was stunning. Each car is a special case and ALL of the pros and cons need to be weighed when looking at the big picture.

I would agree if the car is "cherry" inside and out - it'll be worth 6K.. Here is a link of a car on eBAY that might give you a little comparision.

Man that car is awesome looking, now that is a deal and a half. I would be asking $3000 if it were me. Dang wish i should have looked around a bit more before buying my 86GT.

Default scan codes

Take 5 minutes to pop the hood and scan the EEC IV Codes. Most 5.0 Mustangs for sale from private owners will give a sensor error from the TB position sensor or the left HEGO sensor. If the exhaust is aftermarket you can count on at least one error. This can be used as a bargaining tool when dealing with individuals... even if there's nothing actually wrong $6500 is too much. start at 4800 - 5k and see what his reaction is. In this economy most people will fold fairly easily. Good Luck!
