Looking for opinions

As everyone knows...opinions are like @ssholes. Everyone has one. So I'd like to hear yours. I'm planning on building a single turbo motor for a street/show car and don't know which way to go. I would love a turbo'ed 331, but I'm afraid it'll overpwer the stock block (even if it's race-prepped and has a main girdle). So do I go with a 331 and keep the boost really low or do I go with a built 306? I'm not sure if there's a big difference there, but I figured I'd ask you guys what you thought.

I would do the stroker because if you are building the motor from scratch it would not cost that much more then a 306. Then you could have the low end grunt because of the added cubes + huge topend power when the turbo kicks in.

This sounds like a good candidate for the FMS sportsman 5.0 block, I've seen them advertised for $800 and even Ford rates them as being able to handle 600+hp. Might as well do it right and get a good block, oh yeah, I'd do the 331 as well.
