Default lowering

How much would it cost to lower '89 lx about 1 1/2" to 2"?

Best 1/4 mile- 14.1 @98 mph (67 deg. 90+ humidity)

Hey in summit they have Intrax brand springs a set of four is $189.95. I have also heard that springs from a 4 banger will lower around 1 inch or so. Thats all i know, see ya around

i dunno,depends. lowering it correctly so you still maintain good drivability, tire wear an comfort in the cockpit is key. theres plenty of dorks scrapin rubber an lookin cool, but they go through tires like a mofo also. so this bein a "real" car,( with some degree of style an sophistication) you wanna lower it correctly.

doing everything all at once, (shocks, struts, springs, c/c plates, k-member, ball joints etc.) the first time, the right way could be almost $2000.

jus lowering it.. with springs i'd say 2-3 hundred.
you might wanna go with a package deal from steeda. G trac or stage 1 set up gives you a firm base to build on an you can chose weather to progress to the next stages later on if you want to or not, an stay with a relativly smooth lookin ride.

you are not supposed to go more than 1 1/2 inces without changing the spindles or you will ruin your front suspension.

what is your purpose in lowering it? Is it just for looks? If so, be careful not to go too low like the aforementioned! I personally think the lowered rides are for rice burners. Good luck with your decision. I wouldn't spend over 200 bucks just to have it lowered an inch. Can people really tell anyways? Just my .02

of course regular people can't tell(unless they're car people) but mustangs come stock "ridin tall in the saddle" on dinky lil shoes. to make them cost effective they're given weak stock springs struts.. no where near a set up that a true performance car needs for proper road contact an handling. IMO the stock set up jus looks "unfinished". lowering it correctly gives the cars better weight distribution, a lower center of gravity, not to mention a sleeker more impressive stance.

really??

that may be part of it but I always thought it was a happy medium between drag suspension and road racing suspension. No matter how much money you spend you will never have a setup that can carve corners and pull 1.4 60'. It's one or the other or stock

thats true,
it may be as far as the 80's hatch an notch's suspension go but the sn95 mustangs come out ridin on lil 16's (if you didn't order the premium 245/ 17's) they also came with lots of wheel gap in the fenders... it jus dosen't look finished for some reason. now the 05 concept seems to have taken note from the 80's foxes an comes out with virtually no fender gap as far as i can tell (which makes the car very attractive, even bone stock)

yea the foxes are drag material no doubt, lil body, big engine,(forged pistons in the 87 GT) it's a recipe perfect for the1/4.

you can dump enough money into any car to get it to do the impossible. the pushrods seems to favor the drag an autocross tho, strictly for their low end torque.

the sn95 4v cobra's seem at home on the twisty's

the first generation 2v 4.6 gt's lack that low end stock. but the 99-03's come out with 260 horses.(friend of mines stock 01 went 13.669 in the 1/4 with an exhaust an air filter)
