Lucky if it goes into 2nd

Lately when I am daily driving and I normally shift from 1st to 2nd, I am lucky if it goes into gear. Usually it will chatter and I'll have to rip it in like 2 times to get it in. It only does this in 2nd gear. However, when I give it some gas in 1st, then rip it into 2nd, it always goes in. Also, if I slam on it in 1st, wind it out to 5k and rip it into 2nd, sometimes it won't go in and it grinds. I am really annoyed by this and I know it's killing my tranny. I have a T-5 with stock shifter, new clutch (3k miles old) and adjustable clutch cable.

What could this be?? Synchro? Clutch cable needs adjusting? Input shaft? New shifter? Please help!!!

sounds like your syncro (sp?)in your trans is going bad. Have it checked out. Typical T-5 problem

Definately sounds like the syncros! You can get a super duty T5 from Jegs for a little over a grand or go the tremec route. Tremec you will spend lik 2 G's on the whole set-up.

It does sound like a syncro problem but I would also make sure the clutch is properly adjusted. I see you have an adjustable cable. How far off the floor is your clutch starting to engage at? If it starts to engage to close to the floor it can make shifts difficult.
