Default Front seal removal on C-4

I figure since I have my tranny out, I may as well install a new front seal. Does anyone know how to remove the seal on a c-4 tranny?
I was told I can use a screwdriver and hammer and go around the edges until it pops off but that doesn't sound like it's the correct way.

Isnt that the pump seal? Mine is leaking there now. mainly under high rpms. Blows all over exhaust and smokes like a chimney. AS far as getting out the screwdriver might work. Sorry Im not much help.

You can buy a seal removal tool but in reality they aren't much different then a bent screwdriver, the harder part is the installation of the new on unless you have a really long tube that is the same diameter as the seal you have to very carefully install it by working your way around the edge of and be sure to put a liberal amount of grease on the inside of the seal before you in stall it. Not so much grease that it is sloppy buut enough that the torqie convertor has a good ring of grease to ride against.
