MAC's HTS coating....
Can anyone tell me what it looks like? Is it a glossy silver ceramic like Jet Hot's? I've seen some coatings that look like rough primer and I don't want that. Thanks.

I don't know what they look like but i know what they sound like.
I heard a 93 Cobra with MAC shorties and MAC exhuast and it was unbelievably horrible, very high pitched and cracky, if i did'nt know better i would have thought it was a Honda.hehehe Beautiful car though just sounded bad, my Cherry Bombs sound 10 times meaner. |
MACs HTS is silver in color but dull not like Jet Hot's coating.. I wanted to go with the Jet Hot - but didn't have the extra $$.
The MAC setup we have sounds good - not like a ricer as commented in other post.. Of course cherry bombs are going to sound louder/meaner than a setup with cats especially when the fiberglass baffles burn up! |
Yeah, unfortunately sound is subjective. I've heard good and bad of just about every system out there. A big part of what I like about Mac is their price. But I like that Jet Hot look. I had the headers on my 69 GT coated about 8 years ago and they look just like new. If it's a dull coating, I'm afraid it will collect dirt. These you just wipe clean. Looking for a little of that ease of maintenance.

That is pretty much what my MAC equal shorties look like too. They are 4 years old and still look pretty darn good. Not as good as hot-jet, but better than blue chrome.
I have the full MAC exhaust with a prochamber and cat-back with chrome tailpipes. Overall I am very pleased. The coating has held up pretty well, the system is easy to instal, and I really like the sound. |
