Re: Mafs
With only a cold air induction kit on your vehicle, there are a lot of better ways to spend money if you're looking to add a little horsepower or acceleration.

Re: Mafs
IMO, the 90 degree turn in the fenderwell mount hurts more than it helps, if you want to go with a CAI, get a C&L tube with the filter straight off the MAF. Also seen the longer conical filters produce more hp than the shorter ones. Maybe only a couple, but attention to detail is what they teach us. I know you thinking "it's not really cold air if it's in the engine bay", steeda sells a plate that blocks most of the engine heat or you could make one yourself, either way, replacing even the restrictive stock filter is good practice. Just FYI.

Re: Mafs
When my Stock MAF went bad on me I changed it out for a 75 mm Granitelli. I think I noticed a difference...not real sure..maybe on top end. But for the $200+ it costs, I'd do something else. Lower $/hp and now I'm looking at making other changes and I have to either get it matched to different injectors or buy another unit.
Gears are the best, if you can't get them and don't run a big sound system get underdrive pulleys. Those I did feel a difference. |
