Post Pulleys, water pump, and fan clutch

Ok, i just got my stuff, and i'm gonna install this weekend. I got underdrive pulleys, water pump/thermo/hoses, police fan clutch. Anyone want to tell me how to install these?

My guess: drain water, take off fan shroud/overflow, take off hoses, swap thermo, take off old water pump, remove fan from water pump, put fan on new clutch>on water pump, put pump back on, put on new hoses, refill water pump.

Anyone have any specifics i should know?

Drain coolant. Take off fan and clutch as one, let it sit in the shroud while you take off two shroud bolts, fan/clutch/shroud all come out at once. Disconnect hoses, take off pump. Swap stat. Put on new pump. Put fan on new clutch. Put hoses back on. Put fan/clutch/shroud back in. Refill and "burp" system. Check for leaks.

I've read a couple things on pulley installs, and they say to leave the belt on while you loosen the pullies, is this necessary? And are there any other weird things i should know about any of these installs?

You do need to leave belt on to remove alt. pulley nut. You will also need an eletric or air impact wrench to loosen alt. nut. With out belt on the pulley will spin free. With the shroud out of the way the crank pulley can be removed fairly easy. Remember to disconnect neg battery cable. If wrench touches any of the electrical system you might short something out. Good luck
