no it has nothing to do with your compression, the only way to lose compression would be somthing wrong with the valve train or the piston/rings/cylinder.
you do need to plug up the hole in the back of the head asap, you are getting a massive exhaust leak and that is probably costing you a little HP, i wish i knew the bolt size off the top of my head, thats all you need to plug it up
