manifold single or dual?

Originally I was going with the air gap manifold and a 4150 street carb, but now I’m considering a dual quad set up, so cool,,,any thoughts on this would help. This Is what I have waiting to install, svo 303 heads, e cam, new chain, Mac long tubes. What’s been done to the car is mac cat back, upper and lower control arms, rear drag springs, comp shocks, sway bar, 3.73 gears, ram air hood, oh and this will be a daily driver.

Dual quads? You're joking, right? The E-cam won't even make good use of a single plane intake with a single quad, much less a dual quad setup. For a daily driver with those mods, stick with the Air Gap or a Wieand Stealth dual plane with a single four barrel, no larger than a 650.

Which cam do you suggest if not the e cam?

Depends on the rest of your setup and what you want to get out of the car. I'm not a fan of the catalog cams. I prefer a good custom grind.

I'm building a 347 with dual AFB's. They are on an Elderbrock F-28 manifold. Elderbrock 500 cfm's. Sure it is over carbed, but it looks good. Putting it in my 68 Cougar.

I had the same intake on a 68 Mustang FB 289 several years ago. It worked good.

I just like the look of multi carbs on an older car.

That might have been good advise about 15-20 years ago but with all the different cam companys out there today, and all the variety of grinds, there HAS to be a particuliar cam that will fit just about any engine combo out there.
Give me any custom grind cam and I should be able to find an aftermarket cam with the same or VERY VERY similiar specs.
IMHO, custom cams are for people too lazy to search all the different cam companys for specs to fit their combo.
If you have unlimited funds and not much time to look for a cam then a custom cam is for you.

If it's really going to be a street driver, I vote for that air gap and a vacuum secondary 650-670 Holley or Demon. Low to mid range torque is what I want in that situation. As far as the cam goes I vote for the Comp Cams Extreme Energy or an equivalent Crane or Lunatti either flat tappet hydraulic or roller hydraulic, keeping the revs blow 6500 rpm. That's just my take on it. I'm sure there's lots of other opinions.

A good compromise between a dual plane and single plane intake would be the stealth intake. It's a high rise duel plane design that works really well.
I agree with REV, I'm a fan of the Comp Cams XE series cams. I have one and it's really strong on the street.
