Post c-4 or c-6???

me and my buddy are starting a new car right now..a 351 in a 85 notchback..we are def ganna run an auto and i was ganna run a c-4 till i was told 2day that the c-6 isnt that much hevier and the c-4 runs out of gear too quickly..what is better for a car that wont see faster than 10's??also what are the gear ratios in both trannies..

use the c-4. theyre better for racing. they dont run out of gear quicker.noone has ever had a problem with a c-4 and thats why theyre used in pro 5.0 cars. all trannies have a final drive of 1:1 except od or stick which have 1:1 in 4th gear. unless you plan on using 4.56 gears you wount have a prob on the street.

thats what i thought..was was planning on using a c-4..my buddy also said you build em..i have yet to fool around with automatics and carbed cars so this is kinda new to me..EFI and i can do anything but this old tech i never had the chance to fool arond with yet..im sure it wont come hard to me..only thing i got to learn is how to tune a carb

Ya, you want the c-4. The c-6 is just beefier, it can handle a lot more power, but is physically MUCH larger.
