Yes!!! I finally get to answer this one- just went through it.
Your fenders on that 87 aren't made for anything very large. They changed in 91 to make more room for steering. If you can buy a couple of new fenders ($70 a piece front ground effects are smaller also I got mine off ebay) it'll make it a lot easier. I even had to take the inner fender garbage out and now it doesn't rub at all.
245 up front
255 in back (or take out quad shocks)
17 x 9 is what I'm running.
A 17 x 8 will fit perfectly with a 91-93 car, being that's what the Cobra had.
Also, you're gonna have to do some work if you want to lower the car on a 17 x 9 set up... I had to take my car back up to the stock rid height to fit them- I've just been through a nightmare with these wheels!
