Default superchip??

i have an 87 5.0 5 speed and im almost positive that i dont have mass air i hear they only made them in california that year! so... now i cant put a superchip in there with out mass air can i? just wondering if i was going to have to pay the money to put mass air in before the superchip??

I have an '88 GT and I had a hyperchip on that car. As soon as I changed to mass air I had to sell the chip. It made little performance gains IMO!

so what ur saying is that i can get a chip i just would have to change it if i wanted mass air?? and the chip wouldnt really help much thanks man

It didn't help much for me! I really didn't notice a difference, even when I went to moroso.
The reason you have to get rid of it if you switch to mass air, is because you have to change out the computer too, and they're not the same.

I would not waste money on a chip unless you have major engine work done. Even then get it done on a dyno!
