Arrow In the middle of installing new parts and need.... help/advice

Ok my car is all taken apart and this is the deepest I have ever gone into a fuel injection motor.

I have new parts to install GT-40 intake , port and polished stock heads and 1.7 roller rockers.

Question #1...should I use the 1.7 roller rockers or would I get more out of a b-303 cam.

#2...Does the GT-40 intake flow too good for my current set-up

#3 Is it time for a custom burned chip or would it be a waist of money on a SPEED DENSITY setup

#4 Will the GT-40 intake clear tall valve covers or will I need a spacer.

#5 When I put the injectors in the GT-40 intake do I lube them with anything or just pop em in there

Any help would be appreciated....Hoping for LOW 14's I also have subframes and slicks to install before march when the track opens

If you plan on getting heads I would wait for the install. A intake doesn't do much for power with out heads. Put it this way, I put on my GT-40 heads and ran 12.9s and then put a cam and intake on at the same time and only picked up .2. It's alot easyer to put the heads and intake on all at once, then you dont' have to worrie about taking it all off again. Just my $.02

your GT40 will compliment your ported stock heads very well, thats basically what I have and it runs great together, i've got 1.7s with the stock cam, and a B303 will go in in about 6-7 weeks

The B cam is a better choice than just adding 1.7 rockers, no the GT-40 does not flow too well for your set-up. It is perfect for your combo.
You may have surging idle problems with the B-cam and speed density. In fact, you probably will.

You will need a spacer for the intake.
Put a touch of Vaseline on the o-rings when you install them. Just enough to make them look shiny.

Definelty get a set of copper plugs, autolite or ngk. Which valve covers do you have?

A 1" spacer will increase the length of your intake runners which will promote more low end torque but will lower the rpm at which peak hp is achieved.

Since you don't have a cam your hp will peak somewhat low anyway, so it may work well. But if you ever add a cam you might want to consider a smaller spacer.

You might want to consider switching to mass air. Speed density cars are very picky when it comes to increasing air flow, you may have some surging problems even without the cam, definelty with the cam. A custom chip may be needed to fix driveablity problems. You may also not see the increase in power you expect, due to the computer not compensating for the extra airflow like a mass airflow setup.

I am going to try and tune my speed density set-up by bumping the fuel pressure to compensate for the added air flow.

I have seen people on this board running 11's and 12's with speed density. If I cant run mid 13's with speed density then I will switch to mass air but I will avoid it if possible.

I think that I am going to try the ngk plugs, I also need to find a fan shroud so I can put my flex fan back on, the electric fan that I have now pulls too much of an electrical load load.

I have ford motorsport valve covers to go with the 1.7 roller rockers

Yah those NGK plugs are great. My car seemed to run better with them than the Autolite 25's I have now. The NGK has a small groove in the electrode that supposdely prevents fouling a little better.
