Default Where is the "check engine" light?

I know this is a silly question but where exactly is the check engine light on the '88-93 5.0's?
I tried to scan for codes the other day and the light never flashed so I need to check the bulb but I don't know where it is.

This may be a silly answer but its right underneath the tach.

Maybe someone else can tell you exactly where the bulb is at.

Default Not on 88's...

No check engine light on 88's...I hope, at least I have never seen one on mine in 6 years.

I read in one of the tech articles that 1988 was when they first put the engine light in the 5.0.....the '86-87 did not have them.
Hmmm.....................interesting.

OBD I was used in Mustangs first in 1988, thus that was the first year they needed a MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) aka: check engine light. I suspect yours is burned out, or has been removed.

Take care,
~Chris

Default great...

Just when I think I have a grip on this thing, you guys point out something like this.
I my own defense, I couldn't find anything definitive in the Ford Service manuals regarding a service engine light on convertibles...
But, apparently I may be an idiot.

if you can't physically identify the location of a particular idiot light, why not shine a flashlight on the instrument panel and watch all the labels pop out at you?

Well mine is not a convertable.. but I'm positive its an '88!
And the lights should flash on briefly when you start the car. (Check oil and Check Engine).
