Post motor mounts

I have a street driven, never raced 82GT that I just put side exhaust on - in doing the final adjustments (with the driver's side pipe hitting the bottom of the car) I realized that my motor mounts are shot.

What should I do, Go with convertible mounts for a 93 (79-83, 93 use a different mount than 84-92 supposedly) or go with solid?

I don't care about a little vibration, I just don't wanna shake electronics apart, etc...

Is a solid trans mount a neccesity with solid motor mounts (I never can remember those 'if/then' statements...)

thanks

Go with the Energy Suspension trans and engine mounts. Their engine mounts are like the convertible.

Get the Energy Suspension setup like LX-XLR8R said. I'm running Moroso solid motor mounts with the Energy susp urethane tranny mount, and it vibrates a lot, but to me its tolerable. Its upto you, but the Energy ones are great pieces and well worth it.

On the energy suspension web site (and the Summit catalogue) it says that their kit is for '84 and up - can anyone tell me if they will work with the '82. I do not know what is different, but I know that 79-82 and 93 are always listed separately?

thanks

I was thinking a little while ago, I know of guys welding the stock ones, but what about making an angle iron spacer or the equivalent to limit travel (ie, it would hit after only so much movement)

then again, part of me says that this would create more stress by giving and then stopping?

who knows?
