Default Msd Al6

im thinking about ordering one of these for my 91. It is mostly stock with upgraded headers and the basic cold air intake. Im running a Crane Coil.

What can i expect with this? I dont imagine i will gain any HP

Are they hard to install? Do they come with the proper harnesses and such?

My long run plans are a bigger cam (stage-1 or somthing mild from trickflow perhaps) and some AFR heads eventually......

I also have a brand spankin new cobra intake to put on the car when i do the cam and heads....

I used to have a Mallory 6-AL and it was a nightmare. Would stop completely for no apparent reason leaving me stuck on the side of the road with no spark. After a couple of these experiences and after factory repairs (they wouldn't tell me what failed?), I just replaced it with an MSD 6-AL. Guess what? No problems at all in 4-5 years now. I love my MSD 6-AL and recommend it highly. Anyone want a Mallory 6-AL sold very cheap, LOL?

Agree with Rev here. Stay away from the Mallory and go with MSD or Crane. Both are high quality. I've used both, MSD and Crane, and have never experienced any problems with either.

The stock ignition can supply alot of power on a 5.0, probaly well over 300hp, i still run the factory ignition, but hope to upgrade to an msd 6al with a 6200 rev limiter pill I finally put my battery in the trunk, so my msd can go where the battery was.
Oh, I think sumitt has the harness you need to connect an msd box to the factory harness.
