Arrow Anyone have pics of a 5.0 turbo set-up--Or reccomend a good economy set-up

I need boost before march....or my brother and dad will waste me on the track....Its not looking good for the old 5.slow as they call it.

I am probably gonna run about a 14 flat with what I have now and thats about a second too slow.

I want to accumulate all the parts I will need..

Turbo manifold
Turbo
intercooler
30# injectors
etc.....

Are there any turbo gurus to steer me in the right direction
There are some things I am confused about and need help.

Such as do you run a turbo manifold on one side and a header on the other or do run two manifolds.

you should be Under 14 with the mods you have. get a 150 shot or even a 200 on it and then see what they say. Turbo will not be to cheap here is a 351w TT about the same thing http://www.geocities.com/toohighpsi/BudgetTT.htm

For a single turbo application, you do run a regular header on the passenger side, then into a crossover pipe that connects to the manifold on the driver's side.

Check out www.turbomustangs.com. There are links to all the major manufactures of turbo systems for any year mustang.

You can build your own system too, if purchasing one is out of the question. I'll help all I can.

Stang Runner,

Actually, 14 flat is pretty good for this altitude.

Dark_5.0,

You could probably build a pretty decent little twin turbo setup for pretty cheap. Here's another site with some ideas:

http://members.tripod.com/turbostang/

It'll take some custom fab work with the inlet tubing and headers, but it can be done and done for cheap. Sorry I don't know much more to help out.

By the way, I'm up in Amarillo, but I'm from just north of Lubbock originally. I've got some good friends in Odessa. Some in the TTU PT program there and another that went to Odessa High a few years ago and who is currently at Odessa college. I'll look you up if I'm around sometime.

Purchasing a kit is not out of the question I just want to get it right the firs time.

I want to know wich one gives you a good bang for the buck.
I am looking to knock a second off of my E.T. so 6psi of boost should do it.

How much are you looking to spend, Turbo Driven Concepts has twin turbo kits starting from $3900 for the stage 1 kit, that should knock off at least a second. Cartech also has descent kits.

No problem, man. Altitude kills et's, but it has some advantages as well. In Idalou, it figures to be close to a .7 second difference from sea level. However, we can run more compression on pump gas.

Oh, a guy I know is running an automatic Anniversary Trans Am plummed with a 100 squeeze. Without the juice, he's hitting 13.2's on the G-tech....that seems pretty darn fast for this alt. I'm wondering what kinda mods he's done. Curious to see how he performs at the track.

Can't wait to get back down there and do some tuning. Great thing about West Texas...tracks open in February.

well, if i were you, id look into an Incon twin turbo kit. it comes with the turbos, intercooler, headers, fuelpump, injectors, custom chip, maf.....

and its all for 3995. running 7psi of boost you should be somewhere around 400fwhp, or about 350rwhp.

IMO this is the best kit on the market.

the incons never came with a chip (even though it was listed in their '98 brochures). they also stopped including the injectors and fuel pump. this was because many people already had those.
this is all a moot point because they are not available (nor have been for a while).

Give Greg Banish a call at www.detroitspeedworks.com . He ran a twin turbo, and went to a single larger turbo for his Mustang.
