![]() Yes its time to replace the coil on my good old 95 Cobra. I was thinking about the MSD coil but I heard from a few people that it makes noises and only last a few years. Has anybody found anything good about it, or should I just go with a stock replacement?

![]() I had the MSD Blaster 2 TFI coil in my car, it made lots of noise, but other than that it was a good coil. Two of my buddies have them and 1 makes noise, the other doesn't. So I'm gonna say its hit or miss with them. Accel and Crane make good coils too, you should consider them as well.

![]() I've had my MSD coil for about a year and a half with no problems. I seem to remember it making a little noise when I first put it on, I guess I just got used to it

![]() I installed the Crane PS-91 coil as a replacement and never had a problem in three + years of using it.
No buzzing, no noise, nothing but nice hot spark. About $50. Recommended. |

![]() Cool, thanx alot 5.0. I've seen the ad for the crane coil in the mustang mags but never thought about getting it, maybe I should. Since it isn't much more than a replacement it looks to be a great deal. One question about that coil, does it use the stock coil wire, the one with the clips. Note sure if the 86-93 stangs used it but the 94-95 does.

![]() I have the accel coil, had it on the car for about 7 years(I'm guessing). No noise and works, it was one of my first mods. Don't know if its better or worse than the crane though, I never really thought about it.

![]() I have the MSD coil and have no problems. What kind of noise are you talking about radio noise or just noise coming from the coil? I do have a little radio noise but no big deal I can't really hear it, but my EQ bounces so I know it is there.

![]() 86StangGT:
As I recall, it was a direct fit. I just had to remove the mounting housing they supply (no big deal) and it connected normally, just like the stock coil. Easy. |
