MSD6A + Radar detector = problems

I have a whistler 1550 that I bought from a friend last year, and it worked great, except on rare occasions it would read laser for no reason, but no big deal. Now after I put the msd6a in it reads laser ALL the time and cant even pick up another band. Would a noise filter help this? I havent heard any static through my radio (mach 460).

Could be two things: Did you change the wires? Cause if you put in more metallic/lower resistance wires that would create interference
If not that, then its dumping interference backinto your electrical system, in which case, go to radio shack and try a capacitive filter.

I have some FRPP 9mm wires that are about 1 year old. Where exactly would the filter go?
