i was wondering what the original clutch size on a 65 stang was because i had to buy a new one that was 10 in but the guys at dallas mustang didnt know if to get 10 & 1/2 or 10 in
its a ram clutch
would it matter if the sizes were wrong?

Default clutch size

I bought an 11" centerforce clutch with flywheel on ebay; Then I undertook the T5 change from a C4. The 11" clutch is apparently intended for 289/302 with 4-speed toploader- -won't fit T5 bellhousing.

All 289v8's have 10" clutch as standard. Hi-Po 289 is 10.4" or 10.5" depending on supplier. 10.5" is the largest long-style that can be installed. Any standard 10" 289 can use the 10.5" as a replacement.

There are other options using aftermarket diaphragm clutches. These require a Ford Racing or other flywheel drilled for diaphragm clutch and PP. You could also have a machine shop drill your existing flywheel to accommodate the diaphragm cdlutch and pp. I understand but don't have first hand experience installing a 11" diaphragm clutch in the 157 tooth bell housing. AFAIK, the 11" long-style will only fit in '69 351w/302 164 tooth bell housings.
