RPM427 - I have never had any experience with them, but I hear that the Dynomax have a pretty controlled sound and are still a great performance muffler.

Take a look at Car Chemistries new mufflers. Link is below

warlock/mac
hey rpm427 the mac's are very loud at 3,000 and above. I have them on my stang, and I love the sound of them. As far as I know I am the only one in my town with them on there stang. I used to have the warlocks on my old stang, just an h pipe to the warlocks with no turndowns. it sounded alright. I herd that they sound allot better with tailpipes. But when I took those caps off and drove around town I set off multipull car alarms. They are loud as **&k.

Out of dozens of mufflers I have heard, the Mac's sound the best in my opinion. They make setting off car alarms a sport. They are not loud below 3k and produce an awsome idle sound.
I think they will be a little loud on my 550 hp 408. I'll keep them and decide when the engines in. That "pipe" is accually a muffler. It has one inside the pipe. |
I'm no exhaust flow specialtst, but I would think that having a muffling device inside a pipe the same size as the rest of your exhaust would be restricting as all get out. Just my .02.

I heard a Bassani Cat-back with an off road x pipe. Loud as *&^%^$!!! Almost caused my ears to bleed. Also there was alot of popping in the exhaust. Sounded like a leak. If you ask me, you can't go wrong with the magnaflows They sound great with a magnaflow x pipe and produce minimal drone and no popping noise.:D
