Mustang falling on face after mods installed

I have a SN95 with which i just installed some mods. I installed P heads w/1.6 rr's, a typhoon intake, a crane 2030 cam, 30lb injectors, 30lb calibrated MAF, shorties, bassani o/r x-pipe, and mac pro dumps. The car has the smog pump and egr removed. The car had some trouble firing up initially, but would idle really rough with some feathering of the throttle. Now, after some adjustments with timing, the car will not even fire up. Everything turns over well, and the car even starts to run under its own power, but quickly falls on its face. Does anyone have any trouble shooting suggestions for me?

I also forgot to mention that I am still running the stock FPR. I also still have the stock ECU.

Ok here is your problem. You are running 38psi on 30# injectors wich is making your engine run pig rich.

30 pound injectors are really too big for your light mods. You are going to have to turn your fuel pressure way down wich means you need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. 24# injectors can put over 400HP to the wheels on an all motor set-up.

Double check your firing order etc...

You are way over-injected and when you add that to the crappy SN computer, IMO there lies your problem.

30# injectors car support 400HP at only 36 psi.

Good luck,

So how far back would you recommend I set my fuel pressure. An adjustable FPR is in the mail, but like always, did not arrive in time. I just need to find some way to get the car driveable before Friday afternoon. I have to leave town and this is my daily driver.

Well re install the stockers or goto a scrap yard with a buddy and pull some injectors to get you by if the package doesnt arrive in time.

I would reinstall the stock injectors, but two of them are no longer useable, don't ask............. I really think the ECU will eventually learn that the new injectors are much larger and start cutting back on the amount of injector spray. My buddy used to run 30lb injectors in his '86. As for the junkyard route, the only junkyard in Gainesville is mainly just a car graveyard. The cars in there are absolutely useless. There is very little salvagable parts.

What is the max lift on a cam that a SN95 stock ECU could handle?

Lol the ecu can handle what ever lift you have room for. Your lift is limited by your piston to valve clearance. The cam you are using is rather mild and should not be the problem unless you installed it a tooth off.

I fixed the issue, I was hosed by an Ebay seller. The seller sent me the wrong injectors, claiming the injector were an "older style" which would explain the odd color. I did some research and found out that the seller shipped me 16lb injectors. That was the entire issue. After I borrowed some 30lb injectors, the car started up and would hold an idle.

This is not the first time something like this has occured, there are some shady-ass people out there...............
