Post AOD mustang with mods

ok i have a 89 GT with a AOD, which has a b&M shift kit. i just put a new long block in with the following mods: trickflow streetheat intake, 70mm mac TB, 75mm bullit maf, 1.6 roller rockers, Crane (e type cam),underdrives, mac headers, mac offroad H, and dynomax mufflers. my car is still a dog off the line, and i get beat by a lot of ricers at the start. when i manualy shift my auto i feel more power at higher rpm's in first and second. my question is what can i do to my AOD to make it launch harder, and will a stall converter help or hurt for street use. i also plan on adding 3.73's in place of my stock 2.73's, how much will that help???

The 3.73s will really help you out. A stall will help as well.. Do you plan to spend alot of money of just step up what you have. If you plan to really spend some money then I would suggest a c-4.Oh and your getting beat by ricers?!? Get some heads and tell them bye-bye..

Question

I just reread your question(now that I'm sober ). What long block did you get and what heads do you have? What ricers are beating you? I know there are some quick ricers around but most that I've seen are in the 14-17 second range.

ya, if anything you should be destroying ricers off the line, even if you had a stock car....with what you have, they shouldn't even be around.

Its a Pep Boys long block with stock heads and 1.6 roller rockers. i figured i would be better off the line than i am. some ricers do get my off the line, but i can catch up quickly, its just the starting i don't like. i think my gearing is holding me back, i don't think my stock 2.73's are cutting it. and just the other day my rear end starting klunking over bumps, sometimes grinds a little on the corners. a friend said my TPS might need to be adjusted, how do i do that?
