![]() I would do it...my 92 isn't my daily driver, but its totally reliable...it drives just like a N/A car when your foot isn't into it. Your gas mileage shouldn't suffer if you are just driving regular....I just wouldn't want it in the winter...catching an icy spot on the road under full boost isn't my idea of a good time

![]() My Cobra is a daily driver. One of the drawbacks is that it puts high milage on the block and the blower. Also due to the high amount of horsepower, I was having some major problems. So stuff was breaking or I need to make modifications, and my Daily Driver had a lot fo down time.
But the upside? Who else on teh freeway can go 0-60 in less than 4 seconds in stop and go traffic ? ![]() ------------------ 1994 Mustang Cobra 308ci, Vortech S-trim 11#, ported GT-40 heads, E-303 cam, FMS 1 5/8 headers, BBK Offroad H-pipe, 2-chamber flows, and several other goodies. ![]() I'd say do it. If you want a little more boost at street rpm, you could always run a big blower (like a D-series ATI or a novi 2000) that has a high step up ratio to make more boost at lower rpm. Otherwise, an S-trim should run like any other car when cruising...until you nail it and the boost kicks in. Just make sure you buy a kit with a bypass valve. Flooring it from a light and building up a lot of boost then having to slam on the brakes at the next light and have the boost back up in the inlet is no good at all.

![]() Do it! You won't regret it. I'd say stick with the Vortech or Paxton setups. If your sticking around 10 psi, you won't need an intercooler which comes with all the ATI setups.

![]() I ran a base A-trim(5-6#s) on the stock engine for about 30k miles, around 3 years. No issues at all and it was truly my daily driver.

![]() I've gone over 120k blown miles with various superchargers. Superchargers are fine for daily drivers, but be ready to accept some breakage, increased maintenance, and downtime. I lost 1-2 mpg by putting a blower on, but I lost even more with the E-cam and big injectors. My combined mpg is about 17-18.
Regarding ATIs and intercoolers...I made much more hp with the ATI at 8psi than I ever did with a Kenne Bell at 12 psi. I love the ATI!! ------------------ '91 LX Procharger, 3 row intercooler, extrude honed Cobra intake, Mac full Length Headers, 30# inj., 73mm C&L, 75mm tb, E303 cam, 289 rods, ported E7 heads, MSD, T-Rex w/255 lph Walbro, 5 lug conversion, Cobra R wheels, 3.27 gears and Moser Axles. |

![]() How many miles on the motor now?
A major drawback would be if you strapped the blower on and then you had engine problems. If you have high miles on the motor consider beefing up the bottom end before you attempt a blower. ------------------ 1995 GT Black sleeper Edelbrock 6037 heads,Edelbrock proformer intake,Edelbrock cam, 70mm TB,75mm pro-m mass air,Taylor wires, Underdrive pulleys,Equal length headers,K&N filter Flowmaster cat-back, Eibach pro rate springs lower control arms 3.73 gear Centerforce clutch |

![]() I've been looking into this on and off for a couple years.
I'm on the fence between the boost scene and going the more traditional intake/heads/cam route. Anyway, do a search on this topic and you'll find lots of opinions. Plan on starting at about $2000 for a basic kit. Then you just have to try to resist getting extra goodies ![]() ------------------ Spec Service (UHP), Paint, 16x7.5 ALBA's w/BFG G-Force KDW's, TC 3.55's w/disks, K Bell Ramair, March pulleys, Race Magnums, D/S loop, MM 4point rollbar, FMS C springs & strut tower brace, Tokico Illuminas, KB welded subs. |

![]() Oh wait a minute. I did have one concern, one of the valve covers started to leak. I tightened it down and it didn't leak so bad then. I changed the motor out before I got around to changing the valve cover gasket.
