MUSTANG VS HONDAS
Man, I just had to do this. I live in Miami Florida and I was wondering why do these Rice'rs even bother racing us. I mean down here when they see a Mustang drive buy they all stair at you. HAHAHA It's so funny. I'm restoring my Special Service Mustang And I was going to get so Custom made stickers and guess who came. It's not who came but how many. They just looked at my car and did'nt say a word. I guess they are learning there lesson not to underestimate us. If you live in Miami, you know the area around Bird Road and Hialeah. How is it in you part of town.

I think we should be the ones learning not to under estimate Honda's. The fact is we are the odds-on favorite. On average, Mustangs are quicker, but there are some very quick Honda's, but you need $$$. There is a guy around my area that has a supposedly streetable 10 sec Civic. A few guys have seen the car on the road. Right off the bat he is the underdog. Until the light turns. He'd smash 100% of the cars out there.

I think they are staring because they have never seen 8 cylinders before.

hahahahahahaha
yeah i can believe that there are some hondas out that will beat our stangs on the street/strip, but like above, it takes mucho $$$ to do it.....the low end torque we got just can't be had from a 1.8 VTECH or a honda v6 then you take the fact that virtually NO mustang is a stock v8....so that just makes it that much more unlikely that a honda could keep up with us, much less beat us 8 cylinders: accept no substitute. ------------------ SHaFTed |

I don't think that the Mustang in Smithbling's post is his...Im pretty sure he owns a Honda. If not, then maybe you should buy one buddy.

LEYSTANG: What are you a detective? I hope you were joking!
OTHERWISE!!! Listen Up Monkey! That car is mine. I'm just not as narrow-sighted as some to say that all Honda's are slow. Mind you 95% of Honda's will lose to a 5.0. Just remember the other 5%. Hmm well...I have to agree with smithbling, 90% of the hondas out there are no go but you have to watch out for that other 10% that actually know what they are doing. I haven't gotten beat by a honda yet but the import scene around here is BLOWING UP and i'm sure there will be some fast ones around.

This subject is usually started by a Honda man or women so I would first look at that, second, no matter how much we love our cars (GO MUSTANGS) there is always going to be someone faster and quicker. Whether is be a four $$$$$$$, a six $$$, or another eight $. If you go out on the street ot track and think you can't be beat you are wrong, it is this fear of being beat that gives us the drive and energy to make our cars better, faster and quicker, if we didn't care this great site may not exists. It is competition that keeps us going, if there wasn't any this wouldn't be an issue. So keep working on our cars (again, go Mustangs) and just enjoy what you have.

Here in dallas we have an 1/8 mile track. We all were laughing at a neon with slicks. We all antisipated the beating the cobra was soon to give. the blown cobra ran 8.22 the neon went 6.74. Nobody laughed any more. then he put the street tires on it and drove home. Not all imports are slow. The 7500 + redline allows these little things to scream. I admire all cars(Mustangs Rule)and you have to admit it is impressive to see 4 bangers turn 350 - 400 horses. Can you say indy car racing !!!!

and it also takes a turbo and NOS to get that fast, totally a waste of money, add up the $ it took to get that car that fast and spend the same amount on a stang/fireturd/vette and you will spank the hell outta that lawnboy, i mean neon, they sound the same

I can only wonder what the fuss is all about. Where I live, the ricers all know the pecking order. They would never even think of stepping on the gas on the side of a Mustang or a slomaro. Matter fact, the fastest ricer around here has had to take secounds to my wifes 99 Cougar.

sure there are some really fast imports out there but just think about how much they have to spend to get that fast, v8 cars can go that fast a whole heck of a lot cheaper

Hey 89fhp, you mean you saw all the hondas at the sticker place? what types of stickers you gettin? We have quite a bit of imports here too,
Im seeing more, and more fast ones, at the track i saw a gs-t eclipse turning 13.40's looked like a young dude about my age, im not to anxious to be running against imports like that just yet, but i havent seen, or raced a honda civic that can beat me yet (in person). Is your car an auto? mine has a t-5 oilcooler, 160 speedo....all the police stuff ect.. but looks stock now, i put some grs (not good enough grs) and have 160k mls, those police interceptors are pretty tough get some gears so those hondas are observing those pretty tailights. ------------------ 90 lx coupe: Mac cold air fenderwell, accel supercoil, advncd ignition,3-core radiatr, FMS alum D/S, Black magic fan, 3.27grs, 3chbr flows. Hey 90dpsCoupe, Yeah I got all the goodies, all police package except It came with a oil cooler not a T-5 cooler. I have 3.08's now. I'm not thinking about changeing them yet because I travel to different states with the car and I get good gas mileage with the 3.08's. Anyways, They can try to beat me but I will always make them see my tail light's.

LOL, sorry i typed that wrong, not a t-5 cooler, but an oil cooler, mine came with 3.08 grs too, the 3.27's or 3.55's i heard can actually improve gas mileage because your motor stays in the powerband more often, anyhow the 3.27's i have improved a bit, and only run 100-200 more rpms on the highway over 308's,
but yea, i feel my car should ride smooth on the interstate, after all it was a THP. Later... |
