Default My 351 Fuelie Project Starts Tomorrow

I am building a 1988 coupe and am going to stuff a fuelie Windsor into it.

Starting tomorrow and for the duration of the project, I will be fully documenting everything from part ordering, installs, body and paint, problems encountered, product impressions and anything else that is pertinent. The progress will be documented through writing and photos. I will be happy to answer any questions during the duration of the build.

I have built a car with a fuelie Windsor before so I am not entirely new to this, however it has been a few years now since that car was built so I will be learning some new things and relearning some old things along the way.

Hopefully by the time this is all done, most of the questions people ask on this board will be answered. This will also serve as a reference for me if I ever forget anything and need to look back on the build.

This build has a budget of $40,000 Canadian funds including the price of the donor car ($5500) which I am picking up tomorrow. The complete funds are available to me now, so this project WILL be getting finished and I will not let anyone down by running out of money and cancelling the project. I am projecting a project time of 6-10 months.

Thanks

Default Re: My 351 Fuelie Project Starts Tomorrow

i have a current 351 carb-d project going my self and can say the only problem i have run into so far has been i bought gt40 iron heads and then headers and the ports on the headers is far to big for the mounting surface that comes on any ford cast iron head. so exhaust leaks are a def. problem.onto aftermarket heads. good luck w/ your project.
