If the converter is not all the way on the input shaft the trans won't turn when you try to turn over the engine, thus making you think the trans locked up. separate the trans from the engine and make sure the converter is in place correctly. slide the converter on the input shaft, then lift, turn, and push the converter clockwise by the knob on the back of the converter. This should seat the converter properly. There should be about and inch of space from the back of the converter to the end of the bellhouseing when installed properly.

Also one other note, this may not be relevant. This only applies if you dropped the motor in while the trans is still in the car. You CANNOT bolt the converter to the flywheel before dropping the motor in. You have to put the converter on the trans and line up the bolts to the flywheel when lowering the engine. Hope that helps you out!

That's got to be it. This is the first AOD I have owned. I will pull it apart when I get back. I am in Afghanistan. I will be coming home around the 15th of may and cannot wait to get my car on the road. Thanks for all the help!
