my car won't start PLEASE HELP!!!!! QUICK!!!!!
 

Ok last night I droped my girlfriend off at her house and stated for about 45 min. to an hour. Well I went to leave and my car wouldn't start. All the stuff (lights, exc.) were not left on. Well we tried to jump it off but it wouldn't start. The battery has enough power to run the lights, radio, interior lights, exc. and will spark when you click the jumper cables together, but the car won't start. The gauge reads nothing and the battery light is on, but I think it has power. I think the starter or the starter silinoid is gone. The silinoid still clicks when I turn the key though. Where does the gauge read from?

Sounds to me much more likely your starter is fried or your battery cables are loose or corroded.

If it clicks, that's your soleniod trying to work. If you would like to bypass the solenoid, simply connect the positive cable at the solenoid post to the starter wire coming off the solenoid, or from the positive post on the battery. Should be able to do that with a pliers or something.

If it still does not turn over, look closely at the battery and see if it arc's anywhere.

First thing I would do is clean the posts and the terminals though.

hi tireburner, if your car has the original pos. batt. cable it is probably your problem. they are notorious for burning into inside the insulation and still look perfect to the eye. your selinoid is operated by another wire. run a jumper cable from the hot post on your batt. to the point the hot cable hooks up on the starter and i bet it will start. good luck
