Are my heads backward?
I just read Marty Kot's article in the article section and he said to make sure the thermactor air passage plugs are in the front. Well i'm pretty sure there in the back. If they are backwards am i losing power?

The ports are suppose to face toward the firewall, were a steal tube connects them and then runs to your smog pump.

Some after market heads like edelbrock are plumbed on both ends of the heads so it doesent matter which head goes either side. There are plugs to put in the front side holes this may be what he is refering to. Sock heads are not interchangable.
