Default John Entwistle Died Today

No one else has mentioned it, so I guess I will. I had a long day, installed a blower this morning, and pulled an engine this afternoon. On my way home, I hear that bass player and founding member of The Who, John Entwistle, died today in his Las Vegas hotel room from a heart attack. They were just about to begin a sold out reunion tour. I saw them in L.A. about 20 years ago, and will never forget it.

Take care,
-Chris

Thumbs down Bad news........

I didn't hear that on the way in this morning, and without a radio this is obviously news to me. It sucks, plain and simple. The Who changed what the world expects from a Rock and Roll concert. I don't care what anybody says, they were the loudest and put on one heck of a show. Was planning on catching them this year.

Roger Daltrey one sang (kinda yelled actually) "I hope I die before I get old." It appeared that everybody but Moon was going to live well into senior citizenship, ignoring Daltrey's disenchated cry of youth. We were wrong. Entwistle was a mere 57. He will be missed.

I just received this email from KLOS 95.5 FM in Los Angeles:

Quote:
Chris,

John Entwistle, the founding bass player for the WHO was found dead in his
hotel room today. The group was scheduled to kick off their American tour
on tomorrow in Las Vegas.

The show on Saturday (6/29) at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine
and the show at the Hollywood Bowl on Monday (7/1) have been canceled.

We're checking on refund information for those of you that bought tickets,
and when we get that information, we'll post it on the KLOS Web site at
www.955klos.com.
Take care,
-Chris

This year is a dark and gloomy year for rock musicians.

In December, Chuck Schuldiner(singer for the band "Death") died.

In March, Randy Castillo(Ozzys old drummer, also played with Motley Crue after Tommy left) died of cancer after he was reportedly 100% cancer free.

In April, Layne Staley(singer of Alice in Chains) died of a heroin/cocaine overdose(speedball).

In June, Robin Crosby(guitar for Ratt i think) died of AIDS.

Now, John dies. ****, i hope this **** will stop now.

I absolutely hated The Who's Tommy.

I love Broadway, but the last time I went tickets for all the GOOD shows were sold out, so my folks made my cousins and I sit through this monstrosity of a musical I certainly hope their concerts are better, bc I will certainly never forget their show, and not in a good way.

Bitchin' aside, the band is brimming over with talent, and its a sad day for the rock world to lose another great contributor

They just announced on the radio that the show here tomorrow night, and on Monday night, are still going to happen! Something about a tribute. They said the rest of the tour will probably be canceled, though.

Take care,
-Chris

The who was is a great band and i wanted to see them this summer on the reunino tour but the $125us tickets were more then i wnated to pay. It was sold out anyways. It truely is a sad day for music. The sad part is I will live to see all of the great old bads members die. Page/plant, Jagger/richards, daltrey/townsend,Young/johnson and the list goes on.
RIP John
Thanks for the music
