N20 Help!!!!
i am running a 100 shot wet kit, and recently when i hit the button, i feel a power loss and my fuel psi drops drastically. HELP!!! no leaks in the fuel lines or N20 lines, i even took them all off and re-attached them with teflon tape (whoops, forgot to do that the first time)
if i were to convert it to dry, would i need some sort of fuel psi regulator or FMU? it's just bottle-line-soloniod-line-fogger for the N20 fuel line-t-fitting for PSI gauge-to solonoid-to fogger. HELP!!!! i should mention it is sort of a home built kit, NOS bottle, NOS solonoids, NOS fogger, Edelbrock jets. oh yeah, im running 49n2o, 53fuel as far as jets go. should i lower the jets at all??? HELPPP!!!!!!!!! |

first off never ever under any circumstances use teflon tape on a nitrous kit it can flake off and will clog up your solenoids always use liquid teflon you can get it at any hardware store. and don't convert it to a dry kit i prefer a wet kit I won't put a dry kit on any car. first off how does the fuel pressure act specifically? does it only fall off with the nos on or does it drop at wot all the time and how much does it drop off? are you still runninrg a stock fuel pump and how many miles are on it? it sounds like a weak fuel pump and if it's stock and has 100,000 miles or so on it it's probably in need of replacement for a nitrous application but let me know about the questions above and i'll see if we can pinpoint it exactly.

Replace fuel pump, change fuel filter, and get adj. FP regulator.

Loctite makes a good teflon sealer...we use it at work with pressure around 1500psi ,and in a chemical enviroment. I think its 762.

Yeah never ever use regular teflon tape. I do believe it is your fuel pump causing all your problems.

When is the last time you changed your fuel filter??? A new filter and a bigger pump should correct your problems, as stated already
What concerned me was that you put teflon tape on the tapered AN fittings??? Did I read that right? Or did you only use sealer where the pipe threads are? Teflon tape is a no-no, which I'm sure you've realized at this point, but sealer on the flared AN attachments is a BIG no-no... Get some liquid teflon sealant (permatex or equiv.) and use it only on the tapered pipe threads... not the AN threads. |
