Question need advise on explorer intake

a friend of mine has an explorer intake uper and lower that is ported and he said he would sell it to me for $300 and he will help me install it. Does this sound like a good deal to you guys? and what kind of gains do you all think i would get over the stock intake? the guy is one of my good friends and i have seen the intake it's in really good condition.

Are you adding a bigger throttle body, MAF? Do you already have headers and exhaust? By itself you probably won't see much of an improvement, but I had an Explorer on mine before I went with the Cobra, and with the 65 mm TB, 73 mm MAF, and headers with 2-1/2" exhaust I was beating stock GTs with my pig of a convertible.

The Explorer intake is the same as the GT-40 on the inside, which means it's superior slightly to the Cobra intake.

I think it's a hell of a deal, dude.

I'm thinking that 96-97 model years are the only intakes that came with an egr passage. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. This might cause some problems for you If your egr valve will not work. Computer will probable notice this. Hope this is of some help.
