Need a cowl hood?

If I install a 1 inch spacer on my holley intake, will I need a cowl hood?, or will it clear the stock hood?

anyone know?

well 1 inch is cuttining it close, but you may get away with it by cutting out the insulation on the hood but you can test it by putting a block of wood or something equivalent to 1 inch on the intake and see if it hits, or how close it comes. Good luck

I am pretty sure that you will need one. The holley intake is not small. Why the one inch spacer? Are your valve covers that tall?

I got a set of brand new Motorsport tall valve covers for free, so I wanted to install them.

Oh, well then you will need the spacer like you said. I am pretty sure you have to use the 1" to clear those. I was just curious which covers you were using.

since you might have to get a new hood anyway. try and cut the supports out of the hood that sould give you about 1-1/12 more room to play with
