Hi Jason,
I don't think the truck pan will work. The Mustang pan has a big dip in it to clear the k-frame and rack which the truck pan won,t have. You'll have to find a pan and oil pick-up off a mustang 5.0. The tranny should fit, probably a C-4, but you will have no O.D. and you may have to get a custom length driveshaft, and an aftermarket shifter. I'm sure some more guys will pop up with more knowledge on the subject than myself.

I've got an oil pan off of an 85 GT. It's just collecting dust in my garage. It's double sumped and I don't think you'll have any problems with it fitting in your 81. If you need it, just let me know.
As far as the tranny, if you go with the C-4, depending on the balance of the 302 in it, you may have to get an aftermarket flexplate as well. If it's an HO 302, then you will need a flexplate to fit the C-4 that's ballanced for the HO. If it's not an HO (28oz), then the factory flexplate for a C-4 will work fine. B&M makes an aftermarket one you can buy from Summit for around $100. Dave
