Preferred tranny pan gasket for C4

Hi,

I have a C4 in my street/strip Mustang and I need to change the tranny pan gasket b/c it's leaking terribly and has spilt. Harold Is it true that the non-cork/non-rubber gaskets are the best?

I can't seem to find any other material but cork or rubber. Any suggestions? Any suggested retailers as well? I tried Summit but they only carry the unwanted cork style gaskets.

If it is split, it is tighten too much.

Make sure the pan rails are flat. Make sure that the bolt holes are dimpled in. If any of this is present. Flatten them. Then with a new gasket you shouldn't have any problem. Don't over tighten the pan either. Just snug, the pan bolts are only holding the tin trans pan on, not a connecting rod bearing.
