Default need help dialing in my swap.

So I own a 1985 corolla (ae86), bought a 1985 carbed 5.0 mustang, tow apart both cars and put the 302 and the t5 in the corolla.

I'm running a bone stock non roller motor with an edelbrock 1406 carb, sn95 factory headers to 2 1/4" pipe to 2 1/2" glass packs, no cats, no h pipe. No tstat and 10 degrees base timing.

Issue I'm having is that about 2 minutes into sustained higher rpm operation (donuts, drifting, etc). My headers area glowing red and the car quickly climbs to 220+ and I've gotta go hot lap it to get the heat down. I've owned foxes before and never had this kind of issue.

My only thought is that I might be fuel starving it due to to small of a feed line, the corolla fuel lines that I reused are metric and the feed is slightly less than 5/16 Id (6mm maybe). I'm going to swap for 3/8 hard line to feed to rule that out.

Hoping for any insight y'all might have
Thanks
